This sign begins your welcome to the heart of Arizona. Payson is located in the, almost exact, geographic center of Arizona and is the gate way to Arizona's rim country. The Town of Payson is some where around 65 miles north of Phoenix, Arizona and is part of what locals call the Rim Country which includes Payson, Pine, Strawbery, Star Valley and a number of other small cluster communities. It has an elevation of close to 5000 feet above sea level and a population, according to 2006 census estimates, of a little over 15ooo. It is surrounded by The Tonto National Forest which allows access to hiking, fishing, horseback riding, atving, rock hunting and many more outdoor activities. I will tell you more about our Rim Country in the future.

This is the first day of my blog showing the world how beautiful the center of the state of Arizona is also known as Payson or The Rim Country. I am very excited about this new adventure and would appreciate any suggestions you may have for this site. I hope you will enjoy this part of the world as much as I do.
